Using WinXP-pro, a microsoft wireless optical mouse, and Internet Explorer
6.

This mouse makes a slight click sound in speakers each time click on a
hyperlink on a web site. (For instance, at Google, just clicking on Web,
Images, Groups...each makes click sound).

Would like to turn click-sound off, tried 1) control-panel > mouse and 2)
IE6 > Tools > Internet Options, but didn't see it anywhere. (It's coming
through Wave/MP3 in volume control, but don't want to mute here since this
would turn ALL music off) Would appreciate suggestions, it should be a
mouse-specific setting somewhere thanks.

Thanks Jeff,

Looks very close, checked under control panel > sounds > [sounds tab] >
program events. But nothing there that relates to either mouse or Internet
Explorer's hyperlinks, back-button, or forward-button. Welcome other ideas.

Hi George...
Go back to Control Panel - Sound and Audio Devices - Sounds (tab) -
Program events - Windows Explorer...Complete Navigation and
Start Navigation. Set both to None...Apply...Ok.

That's it, thanks Rick. It's under Windows Explorer (and the click sound
actually occurs when clicking folders on the PC), and its the "Start
Navigation" beep, a wave file, which can be changed to a different wave file
or set to NONE to turn off. Thanks
