Is it possible for me to open an e-mail with an
attachment that uses a different version of Publisher
than what I have? I have Microsoft Publisher 2000,use
Windows Home XP, and Outlook 2000.

Depends greatly on the attachment.
If someone was to send you an attachment from an EARLIER version of a piece
of software you have. No Problem. Usually.
If someone sent you an attachment from the same version you have - NO
Problem.
If someone sends you an attachment from a later version of a piece of
software than you have - it *could* be a problem. You could get them to
save it (using their newer program) in an earlier format - most apps support
that. Or they could save it (I think it was publisher that did this) in a
way where anyone could view it. However, there is no guarantee that if
someone sends you a Publisher 2002 file that you either will or will not be
able to open it.
