Hi !
And first of all sorry for my poor english...i'm french ;)
So my problem : Sometimes...and more and more often, my
monitor turn black... and the computer still run...i mean
still on...power light is on...but i'm not sure that it
really works. i have to turn it off with the power button
(tales 5 seconds) and then re start and it work sometimes
for 2 minutes sometimes for 24 hours ...
i have an AMD athlon 1.67 Ghz 256 Mo RAM...fans turns normally
so if you have any ideas....Thanx :)

Right click on your desktop and click properties then click screensaver tab
then, at the bottom, under 'monitor power', click power. In the midle of
the new window you'll see that it says 'Turn off monitor after,,,' set this
to 'never' if thats what you want.

I am inclined to agree with Jym; bad video card. To check, do you have
another monitor to try, or try your monitor on another computer. That should
determine if it is the video card or the monitor that is bad.
