I don't know what I did?

I don't know what I did, but a portion of my desktop has
been replaced with about a two inch strip. On it are
hyperlinks to other places and details. Would anyone know
how to get rid of this. Thanks

Hi Pat.

It sounds like the links toolbar was enabled, and then dragged to the side
of the desktop.
If there's a dotted line accros the top, drag that into the main desktop to
make a window.
You should then be able to close the window.
