Publib Preview??

does this mean it is an early official version? or is this version the
official version?

will this version be downloaded if wanted to use new version?

I see it is alot better than previous versions.

It can handle Web Cameras better, which is what i want.

I'm not sure what else has be improved, any thoughts?? all of ya.

Will this version auto-upgrade itself to the "final release" much like MSN 8
automatically upgraded itself to MSN 8.5, or will you have to manually
download that one too?

Not that it matters either way, I am just curious.

This will let you know when the final release is out and you will just need
to click in the client to upgrade.

I have never tried MSN Messenger, I currently have Windows Messenger 4.7 I
believe on XP Pro. Will both these programs co-exist ok?

Hi Don,

Actually they do get "along" pretty well (for example, the "alert" or "toast" windows won't
even
overlap if you are signed into both clients).

Hi Jonathan,
Does this mean it's ok to download and install the MSN Messenger 6 Public
Preview into Windows XP as long as the user will not use (Windows Messenger
& MSN Messenger 6) at the same time?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can use both at the same time (assuming you sign into different Passports in each
client), but yes, it's perfectly "ok".

Thanks Jonathan, guess I will give MSN messenger a try, never used it before
and I don't have windows messenger loading automatically, so it should be
fine.
Now , if I can just find some people to talk to.

Hi Don,

Unfortunately there isn't anything like ICQ's Random Chat feature, so you'll have to convince
someone you know to install it as well =).

Thanks Jonathan for confirming it's ok to install and use MSN Messenger 6
Public Preview though Windows Messenger is being used (yup.. different
