can't start a video connection between a Win2k computer
and an XP computer. The XP can see the Win2K, but when the
XP initiates a webCam conversation, the Win2K is getting a
message like "this service is only available in XP and you
don't have that OS"

Greetings Nir,
You have a few options if you want to conduct a video conversation with a contact not using
Windows XP. The person on the previous version of Windows can use the Actions menu, Start
Netmeeting option to start Netmeeting with the contact (which is included in Windows XP),
although the option isn't there by default in the XP Messenger versions or you can both use
MSN Messenger 5 and the built-in webcam support:

or you can install the MSN Messenger 6 preview on both PCs, and use the "Webcam" option
(which is the same as the link above):
