I am using WinXP Pro with SP1 and for the past month or so I have noticed
that whenever I have 10 windows open in internet explorer that my computer
freezes up because Iexplore.exe starts using all available resources. Then
I get a message that the window needs to be closed because iexplore.exe at
instruction 0x77f53b37 at referenced memory 0x00000000 could not be read.
Well after I shut that box my computer is crap until I reboot.
(after opening 10 windows in internet explorer) Many times the task bar will
disappear and I have tried the stop and restart explorer.exe trick but still
the only way to get my computer running good again is by rebooting it. This
is frustrating as hell!!!
My comp is an Athlon 2200, 1GB DDR - 333mhz, Asus A7V8X - any ideas????
TIA!

There's nothing about the number 10 that would cause a problem - I've had
more pages than that open on IE with smooth sailing. It's what's happening
on those 10 web pages that could freeze your system. Open 10 windows that
have lots of scripts running on them and you could be buying a ticket to
computer antarctica. Particularly if you have a lot of other stuff running
on your computer in the background.
