Right, the situation is this:

My laptop (running XP home) began freezing a while ago. I found some tips to
lessen the issue, but it didn't really go away. It always seemed to do it
when moving files. Anyhow, it came to a head after installing a driver
update. The freezing occurred every 5 minutes. So, in an act of desperation
i ran a system restore, to restore my driver settings. It froze half way
through the restoration. Now I'm left with a computer which doesn't boot (it
is in a crash-reboot cycle). I am going to attempt to use a bootdisk I
created by having a look on the microsoft resource base, but I would be
interested to hear if anyone has had a similar problem and how they fixed
it.

Thanks, Eeron

Overheating or bad ram would be my guess. Jym
