Unresolved Error

I receive this message in the Windows Xp error log every
time I boot up my computer.
It has been an on going problem I haven't been able to
resolve,
Any ideas would be appreciated

Friday, June 20, 2003 ACPI AMLI: ACPI BIOS is
attempting to write to an illegal IO port address
(0x4d1), which lies in the 0x4d0 - 0x4d1 protected
address range. This could lead to system instability.
Please contact your system vendor for technical
assistance.

A bios update sometime fixes this error. Sometimes this error is erroneous.
Is there a stability problem in the operating system? Jym
