View Full Version : WIN XP will not restart

I posted this problem earlier but no one replied as of
yet so here it is again.

I have a new PC with Windows XP Pro installed. The
Start/Shutdown options will not work at all. If you go
to start then shutdown and click on any option in this
menu nothing happens. The system simply returns to the
desktop and will not complete the process. Windows XP
has been updated with all the latest SPs and patches.
The only way I can get the system to restart or shutdown
is to use the task manager and request the system to
logoff the user then once I am at the login screen choose
the option to restart or shutdown. The system will then
complete the task requested.

Any ideas.

Thanks

Randy

Is the pc still under warrantee? This could be a hardware related problem
(such as system ram). Take it back. Jym
