Hi
I have a firewire card factory fitted in my 4 month old
PC. I go into device manager and nothing there mentions
the fact that there is a card in. No IEEE1394 Bus Host
Controller is mentioned at all. I have contacted the
manufacturer (who are no help at all), they want me to
send the PC to them and wait two weeks or so. I was told
that you can enable the IEEE1394 port in the BIOS
settings, which the manufacturer hasn't done. Does anyone
know how to do this......I appreciate your time.
Thanks
Craig Stevens

Hi Craig. Have u got Service Pack
1 installed? That may fix the prob.

Unless your motherboard has built
in firewire, I dont think the setting will
be in the BIOS, to activate it.

Is the firewire built-in, or is it
a PCI card the shop put in?

The card or the motherboard
should have come with a CD, with
the firewire drivers on them. If there
is 1, chuck the CD in, and install
the drivers. See if that works.

Umm, to get into the BIOS (if
the firewire is built-in to the
motherboard, try pressing F1, F2,
Delete, or F12.

It may even be one of the
other Function keys. Different systems
have different keys to get into the BIOS.
