Messenger Contacts in OE6

Hi I have Windows XP home edition and works for a long time with messenger
4.7 because release 5 and now release 6 won't show the contacts frm
messenger 5 or 6 in OE 6 from windows Xp. At my work I have Windows 2000
with IE 6 and OE6 and there it will work. I can see the contacts in OE 6.
Why is it that it won't work in Windows XP. I thought that in Windows Xp
evry thing was intergrated.

Outlook Express contact window only integrates with Windows Messenger 4.x, it does not
integrate with MSN Messenger.

Why does the Windows 2000 version have the inergration and the Windows XP
version not?
Because at work release 5 and 6 are an replacemant for 4.x but under xp it's
stands beside each other?

Hi Frits,

This is because on Windows XP, both Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger have to have the
ability to both be installed. When other applications call the Messenger control, they look
for the original Messenger ID, which is what Windows Messenger uses. Under Windows 2000, the
ID has always been the same sine there's been no Windows Messenger, so it calls MSN
Messenger.

The next version of Windows Messenger will actually install on Windows 2000 and will
uninstall MSN Messenger if it is installed.
