View Full Version : Activation wizzard

I have a problem with the activation wizard. It was
telling me I had X day's left to activate it, but when I
would go through the sequence to activate Windows XP Home,
it would tell me it was already activated. Now it has
moved past the activation date and will not let me access
windows. It asks me if I want to activate it at the
welcome screen and then goes back to the welcome screen
when I select yes. This process goes round and round and
I cannot get into the OS. I can boot it in safe mode.
Hoe do I fix this?

Go to start/run, and type

regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll

OK, then,

regsvr32.exe licdll.dll

Edit the Value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrent Version\WPAEvents
"OOBETimer "
Change at least one digit of this value to deactivate Windows.

Restart windows:

Start/Run, type:
%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a

ok, thanks, however I am not sure where I will find this
to change a value.
">HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrent
Version\WPAEvents
>"OOBETimer "
> Change at least one digit of this value to deactivate
Windows"

I ran the first two file and got simple pop up messages
indicating it was successful.
