why the heck does WM try to keep logging in?

I am using outlook now and my windows messenger is so dang annoying it keeps
trying to log in. how do I stop this?

To stop Messenger form loading with Outlook, do the following:

To stop these, for Outlook (XP/2002), just open Outlook, click
the Tools menu, then Options, then the Other tab, and uncheck 'Enable Instant Messaging in
Microsoft Outlook'. For Outlook Express, close Outlook Express, and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg
You'll need to start Outlook Express to see the change.
