Does anyone know if MSN messenger ver6 allow web cam
video chat with Windows messenger 4.7. All previous
versions of MSN messenger would not allow video chat and
I have been using netmeeting with non-XP users ?

Greetings Charlie,

MSN Messenger 6 will perfectly communicate with Windows Messenger 4.x, with the exception of
the "Start Webcam" feature, in order to have a voice/video conversation with someone using
Windows Messenger, use the "Start Video Conference" option instead (see Actions menu in MSN
Messenger 6).

The "Webcam" option in MSN Messenger 6 and the voice/audio option is available in every
Windows version.

Tried unsucessfully to use my XP/Windows Messenger with
someone who had installed MSN messenger 6 on their '98 -
no sound/video at either end. So I installed MSN 6 -
could not get a "Video Conference to work"; using Start
Webcam would display my image on their PC but not theirs
on mine! Audio/Voice would not work either.

All the usual suspects were checked, Firewalls disabled,
DMZ on routers, etc.. We did get Netmeeting to work
though.

Can Anybody confirm inter windows success ie. 98/ME & XP)
with audio/video communication ?

TIA
