Did the computer you bought come with an original CD?

Hi Robert,

You may have a pirated copy of WindowsXP, see:

Error Message: The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326904

If so, you are going to need to purchase a legal copy and do a repair
installation with the valid Product Key.

Greetings --

Are you trying to install Service Pack 1 and getting the
following:

The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q326904

Purchase and use a legitimate full copy of WinXP Pro to perform a
repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation, using the new CD and
Product Key.

How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade of Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q315341

You should also contact eBay and inform them that the seller from
whom you bought the PC is peddling pirated software via their service.
