I have windows xp messenger now with an older Netgear gateway router -
have been unable to use webcam or video conference because the router
is not plug and play.
Has MSN Messenger 6 overcome this problem?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response Jonathan,
Would you anticipate any problems with having both Windows Messenger
and MSN Messenger on my pc - can they coexist since there appears to
be no way to delele or remove Widows Messenger?

Hi,
Actually not really, Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger installed at the same time (on XP)
actually do work well together (for example, the "alert" or "toast" windows won't even
overlap if you are signed into both clients). You actually can remove Windows Messenger, but
Remote Assistance, Whiteboard and Application Sharing will no longer work if you do this (as
such, it's not recommended).
