when compture boots up give error message mfc42u.dll file
corrupt and reinstall it may solve problem also get
message when trying to open hearts game
how do i fix it and what would cause it. i tried to
restore to a previous date but that didn't help

Try using msconfig to extract mfc42u.dll from the XP cd.
