You cannot 'close' (I am assuming by close you mean uninstall) Windows
defrag. You can however, close Norton. It is garbageware and is not doing
your system any favours. If you must insist on using it, are you running a
version that is compatible with XP? Personally, I'd get rid and, if you must
use a 3rd party defrag application, then use something like Disk Keeper 7.
Doesn't install any extraneous rubbish and does exactly what it says on the
