When my computer goes into standby mode with MSN Messenger 5.0 running
in the background, the Messenger is no longer running when I resume
from standby. "Run Messenger when Windows starts" is checked and
works properly; same with "Allow automatic sign in when connected to
the Internet". The problem occurs whether or not "Open Messenger main
window when Messenger starts" is checked. Messenger is still running
after standby (and automatically signs in again) if the main window
was open when standby was entered, but not if it was just running in
the background.
HP Pavilion 725n, Windows XP Home (all updates installed), cable modem
connection, NAV 2003 (IM protection disabled, all updates installed).
Is this a known bug? Thanks.
