Today I could not boot WindowsXP. I received an error message "NTLDR is
missing or currupt". This file is in the c:\ root partition and when I copy
it from a friend's WindowsXP system on a 3 ½ floppy to copy it into my
system I find that I can't do that.
I lost my Dell Restore disk. So, right now I'm up a creek without a
paddle. - Can anyone help me out with a suggestion. - I'm also trying
to create a Windows XP Start Up Disk.
Thanks

Do not use your friends Ntldr it may not work.

HOW TO: Create a Boot Disk for an NTFS or FAT Partition in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305595

Obtaining Windows XP Setup Boot Disks
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q310994

Know do a search for ntldr, their should be a second copy on your
system located in 386 folder. If not you should be on your cd. Copy
it to the root drive. This might fix the problem.
