starting a voice conversation

when i try to start a voice conversation, after they
accept the inventation it says trying to connect to the
users computer, they get a message saying couldnt connect
to my computer, then after a few minnutes i get a message
that the voice conversation has ended, i tryed installing
the latest version and still same thing happing, they
tell me when they invite me thier meter for volume & mike
shows that thiers is working, mine is in grey & not
showing any activity,I used the audio tuning wizzard and
it appears that my speakers and mic is set up correctly,

Can some one help me get this voice conversation to work?

You need to investigagte how both of you are connecting to the Internet.
DSL? Cable? Routers? Firewalls? Dial Up?
