Just today, some of my most usefull tools within Windows
XP home have stopped working.

This same issue occured to my friend, and his problem
eventually worked itself out.

I, However, am not one to wait. I need my Regedit, task
manager, and msconfig. For whatever reason, as I start
these tools, they immediately quit. The window pops up
for less than a second and just disappears.

I did not downlaod any software recently, and have
installed no new hardware. For your benefit:
Windows XPsp1 (all the weekly updates and such)
kt266a
Athlon XP1800+
Audigy mp3+
WD IDE HDD
GeForce4 ti4400 (newest dets)

Any help is appreciated, but remember I cannot use
regedit/msconfig/task manager to fix this problem.
