I have had problems since installing the XP critical
security patches several months ago, my computer was
starting up much slower so I decided to use restore point
before the security update and since then my computer
runs fine but the auto updater keeps popping up telling
me I have the same old updates that are ready to install.
I have tried downloading and installing them but to no
avail, the system doesn't seem to recognize that it has
already installed the updates. Gateway who sold me the
software is not supporting the problem, they tell me I
have to contact Microsoft. Microsoft wont give me support
because XP was purchased from Gateway. Who's to believe
who?
Anyone have any suggestions?
