Creating a boot disk for XP??

If anyone knows how to create a boot disk for Windows XP,
could you please help me out?

I was to install XP on a Compaq laptop, however I am not
certain whether this laptop has the necessary CD ROM
drivers to install XP, after I repartition the hard
drive. That is why I need a boot disk.

I got a Microsoft Base Article-314079, which had
instructions to copy the following files: Boot.ini,
NTLDR, Ntdetect.com, to a formatted floppy disk. However,
when I searched for these files on my C drive, as the
article instructed me to, they were not found.
