Windows Messenger Not Opening

Could someone please help me with this problem. I need
to use Messenger and cannot if I can't get this problem
fixed. I was able to successfully uninstall Windows
Messenger, and then downloaded it again from the
internet, but without no avail. The same problem of the
Messenger not appearing when prompted occurred.
