View Full Version : Can I Rename the Contacts on My List?
TGK
December 5th 03, 02:55 PM
MSN Messenger would have been nice to use if only I could rename the
contacts that I see on my list. Everyone I know uses a 'Friendly Name' which
I don't recognize and cannot associate with anyone on my list! Is there a
way to do this? I am told there is a corporate version of MSN Messenger. Is
this true? Where can I get this version? Thanks in advance!

Greetings TG,
There is no way in any Messenger version (or even the upcoming versions) to rename your
contacts. However, if you're having problems differentiating your contacts, you might try
sorting them into Groups. To do so, open the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu,
then Sort Contacts by, then choose Groups.
There is also no "corporate MSN Messenger".

Thanks for the prompt reply Jonathan. But may I ask why Microsoft does not
make this feature available? I know of many friends who use Trillian instead
of MSN Messenger particularly because of this missing feature.

Hi TG,
It's been high on my feature list for awhile too. Hopefully we'll see it in future versions.

Hi,
I know, this thread is 2 weeks old. Keep in mind that feature only works with MSN Messenger
6.
