Windows Messenger for XP upgrade - when?

Hi,

Back in February Jonathan Kay said that "soon" there should be an upgrade to
Windows Messenger 4.7.

I still don't see it... Is it still gonna come soon? Or has it been skipped,
or...

Windows Messenger 5 is still in development (it hasn't been skipped), but there isn't an
official release date set for it (my "soon" was based on some early information which has
changed slightly).
