I have just installed XP on a new PC and thought I had
transfered all the settins from my old PC which was
running Win98.HoweverI have developed a problem with
Explorer, when I click a link from an open page all that
happens is the new window link opens at the bottom of the
screen, but the link will not open either as a new page or
a replacement screen. I am having to go to properties,
click on the address and copy and paste the address into
the address line, otherwise the link will not open. Can
anyone help.

Hi,
Close Internet Explorer and Outlook Express if either are open.
Start/run "regsvr32 urlmon.dll" (without the quotes)
Control panel/Internent options/programs tab, click on "reset all web
settings"
Reopen and retry the links in Internet Explorer.

Hi,
Start > run > REGSVR32 OLEAUT32.DLL
Followed by REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL
If problem persist, do a repair on your IE
