Hi,

I reinstalled xp again and that file got deleted again ! before i had a
chance to save a copy,or it was never installed ?? Will it work to just
replace it ??

The recent document list is fine this time as I didnt disable any services
that would have anything to do with it.

Thanks
Rob

Are you running Windows XP Home or XP Pro?
Gpedit.msc is a component available only with XP Pro.
It is not available with XP Home Edition.

Hi Robert, sorry you must be using Windows XP Home. gpedit is not available
in home.
Anyway, since you have solved the problem, do a backup of your registry just
in case.

FYI: http://www.dougknox.com/cosmetic/scripts_desc/recentdocs.htm
Something that you might have tried.
