Backup of network settings?

I am using a notebook computer and someone from
Information Technology in my company just installed
access to the company's network (he had to input a
special key in order for me to connect the the network).I
would like to backup network settings so that if there is
a system failure, I can restore my network capabilties in
a speedy manner (and don't have to call them to reinstall
the key etc. Is there a file or files which stores this
information?
