Hi
I just got an XP box bundled with works 2000 Version 5.0
Now on my win2000 machine i use office with word2000 (.doc) so i though i
would drag a file across the network and open it in works.
Seems on XP .doc default is wordpad
First small file Ok (i had to choose Word97 extension first time and it ask
to save even though i did not change it. did that and changed extension to
..wps)
Now anything over around 20K crashes Works. logo starts but then apologises
with the M$ standard send report text.
Anyone know what's going on or a solution?
I would like to use the XP machine as it is faster and has more memory/HD
than old 2000 box.

Go to Start/Run, and type: SFC /SCANNOW
Then reinstall Works.

About the only good way with an OEM install is to save a FASTWiz file somewhere,
and do the repair.
