Wev'e just upgraded some of the PCs in our office from
Win 98 boxes to Win XP Boxes. My question is this. With
the 98 boxes we used winpopup to communicate between
boxes on our ethernet. Does XP offer a utility simular
to this?

Greetings Joe,

Windows XP doesn't have winpopup, although it does receive "winpopup" messages using the
"Messenger Service". However, you can use the "net send" command to send "winpopup" type
messages. To do so, click the Start button, then click Run, and enter:
net send computername themessage

Where the computername is the computer name of the person you're sending to, and themessage
is the message you want to send.
