View Full Version : Winnet.exe - DLL Initialization Failed

Everytime I try to log off one user account and switch to
a different user account, I get this error
message "Winnet.exe - DLL Initialization Failed". In the
body of the message is a Big Red X on the left and it
says "The application failed to initialize because the
windows station is shutting down."

Although, it does not seem to be causing any immediate
problems, it is an annoyance more than anything and I
can't seem to find anyway to correct this problem.

I would appreciate any suggestions on correcting this
problem, so, that I will not have to deal with this error
message anymore. Please reply to .

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

winnet.exe is the underlying ad server for several spyware/adware programs.
Download and run Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
to remove the spyware. Prepare to be surprised by what you find running on
your system.
