Hello,
My name is james and I am experiencing some difficulty
with a program I downloaded. The program is Sound Blaster
16. I down loaded this program because I changed
systems . My orginal system was win ME but it crashed.
I am now using win XP professional. Because of the
change I do not have sound. The error I am getting
refers to "cannot find enough free resources that it can
use" resources it is sharing is the pnp that I was using
with the ME program that xp is not locating. Can I just
delete the pnp. Not sure what to do please help!
Thank you
James

Soundblaster 16 is not supported on XP. Here's a cut & copy from
Creative Labs Soundblaster support page:

"Your Sound Blaster 16 running under Windows XP: Driver files and
software updates are currently not available for the product and
operating system specified."

I do not think it is the operating systems. More like a hardware problem.
How old is this machine and what info can be noted on hardware.

Mike,

I have a Soundblaster !Live and had a question about it, so of course, I
went to their support site. However, having been a long-time
Soundblaster user, I also went to a Creative newsgroup. On the
newsgroup, I jokingly mentioned that I had asked support about the
problem. After much teasing, I received the answer.

Creative support is a joke in most instances. I suppose they would help
a person who had just bought a new card or other product, but after it
gets a few months, or years on it, forget it...

I've had success with Creative support on several occasions. Perhaps I have
a better attitude than you.
