DOS Application still fails

We have network application that is still in DOS (Vendor
working on Windows version). Setup a pif to the exe on
the network and works okay first time then bombs. Need to
reboot each time. Tried the XP compatibility wizard & all
checks out okay but still blows up on the 2nd try. Tried
coping the lan folder to c: Any suggestions? Thanks.

Look for a software vendor that is not way behind the times

We had a vendor that had a DOS version of a Payroll processing application, due
to pressure they came out with a Windows version -- but they neglected to get
many (if any) of the bugs out of it before they went gold. Needless to say, the
money invested with them to provide the software was flushed down the toilet and
we are now with another vendor
