I just had a major problem with my Qantum hardrive, I
could no longer get in (I use XP) Having tried everything
that was suggested on this newsgroup, I opted to buy a new
disk drive. It is a Western Digital 60 gig, I re-installed
my XP and everything is good. Now I did a "low format" on
my 20 gig Quantum and that went well too.

The problem is: It shows in the "BIOS" and on the first
screen where it tells you how much ram you have, the disk
drive and cdrom, it shows both drives has being there.
Then when XP showed up it did detect the drive. However,
it does not show up in my computer or in windows explorer?
What should I do? If, I plug it as secondary master would
that work?

Rightclick the My Computer icon on the Start menu, and click "Manage". If you
can open them there, you might be able to also assign a drive letter.

I assume you have the 60G drive as the primary master. Go to control
panel>administrative tools>computer management in disk management you should
see the second drive, right click and format and follow the instructions. It
should then be visible in explorer.
