Well, like the subject says, I've lost many file
associations/registrations.

IE: clicking on a txt file gives an error; some newly
installed games won't start and give error messages, when
I look in the directory, the exe files have no icon- just
a blank space next to it; jpgs and mp3s have also lost
registration.

Of course, I know I can right click and choose "always
open this type of file with...", but what the heck is
going on with the blank/missing icons?

Seems like something is wrong with my registry. I
recently removed some insidious spyware which warned me
that removing it would result in some programs not
working. I ignored it, and I suspect this is where I am
today.

Any ideas on HOW to RESTORE my associations? I've tried
System Restore- it fails on every attempt.

THanks,
Rev.J
