View Full Version : I think my hard rive powers down how do i know if this is the case ??/

its weird if i leave my pc for a while come back my pc seems realy
SLOW, it takes a few minutes to power up to full speed again then its
fine ???.

Is this the harddrive powering down or is it somthing else and how do
i find out what it is ??

Very anoying when i want to leave the pc on overnight downloading the
pc dies.

Thanks for any help.


This is a new problem never happened to me before, i have Xp and Sp1
installed.

Hi Paul,

Sure sounds like it is powering down. Check power options in the control
panel, set "turn off hard disks" to never.

I did that already i have the Settings allways on, hard disks are on
never, as well as monitor and system standbye is set to never as well
??


So i don't know whats going on.

Virus scanner is not set to go off and other programs are not set to
scan defreag or nothing on auto mode ??

ill track it down.

Can i turn off powerdown from the mainboard bios ??

HMMM no found the prob about 2000 files infected with a virus HA HA.
