View Full Version : Can't connect to another PC

I am on XP pro, and so is my buddy. We can't figure out
how to connect (video conference). We try to 'invite',
and it says on the bottom that my system is connecting,
but then nothing.
I had my camera working before over Messenger. I have a
cable connection w/Linksys router, and my buddy has DSL
(no router).
I just did a clean install of XP, could that be the
problem?

Greetings Brian,
No that isn't the problem. In order to have a voice/video conversation through a router via
Windows Messenger, you'll need to upgrade your Linksys router to its latest firmware to
support Universal Plug and Play (UPnP).
To do so, go to:
http://www.linksys.com/download
After installing the latest firmware, depending on what Linksys router version you have, you
may need to go into the router configuration, password tab and toggle UPnP on. Then reboot
and voice/video should work (no further configuration necessary).
