Many months ago I offered and paid $100.00 for the
solution as to why the ZyXel Prestige 642M-11 Bridge
Router, offered by the Puerto Rico Telephone Co. for
their ADSL service, could not communicate with Messenger
4.7. Communication was impossible because it was lacking
the required UPnP protocol. The analysis and solution was
done by Mr. Brad Schock from Miami Beach, whom I paid the
reward. It was an equipment incompatibility and all
worked well after I changed the modem to a Vigor 2600.
Now I have Win XP Pro, 1GB RDRAM, P4 at 2.4GHz, Santa
Crus DSP,... and 6 years experience and 3 PC's from Win
95 to present. With Win XP integrated firewall off and ZA
Pro on, with security settings at High,I have no problem
to connect audio and video with Messenger 4.7.2009, but I
have only video (cristal clear and no pixels) on
Messenger 6.0.0228, NO SOUND,even if I disable both
firewalls (I never use the one XP integrated).
I am almost sure there is some sound restriction on this
Messenger version. Maybe there is a solution out there.

Do a restore and go back to 4.7 ............... upgrading is not
always the best option.

I have a lynksys router.................I can connect using 4.7 (no
interest whatsoever to upgrade any furhter and let MS **** up my set
up again). I can connect with my father down in PR (he has dial up)
and connect fine.

Can't connect with my brother in FL without him no seeing me because
he also has a linsys router. He connects directly to the modem
bypassing hte router and we get a perfect connection.

For some reason the Yahoo Messenger ALWAYS works and connection is
perfectl.

Don't know why M$hit can get their **** together and fix the Messenger
once and for all...it should not be that hard to make it work behind
firewalls of all popular routers..........I am still ****ed when they
screwed up Netmeeting.

Good luck Efrain

PS Question? How is the ADSL connection by PRT? Are you happy with it.
It is reliable? Is it worth the money.

Please advise
