xp service pack installation

after downloading "critical" xp service pack, I get the
following message during installation:

"Setup could not verify the integrity of the file Update.
inf. Make sure the Cryptographic service is running on
this computer."

What is going on? How do I resolve the problem? Thanks.

Hi,
Go to Start > Run and enter services.msc
A list of Windows Services should now appear on your screen, scroll down the
list until you find Cryptographic Services. Right click this and select
properties. Now ensure that the startup type is set to automatic and click
the start button in that window if the service status is stopped. Now try
running Service Pack 1 setup again.
If that does not fix the problem open c:\windows\system32 and rename the
folder called catroot2 to catrootold. Then try running setup again.
