outlook express "~"

Hi. It seems whenever i either send or receive an
emailfrom someone in my address book in outlook, A ~
appears on my desktop as an icon. I scan it with virus
software and it is clean. I click it and open with
notepad and there is some jibberish but canmake out
addresses from the book. What causes it and how do I stop
it?

Its a bug MS knows about just delete it.

This has been discussed in thsi newsgroup many times. It is your OE
address book. Rename the file with a .wab extension and when you click on
it tour address book will open up. Bekow is a url for Google, specific to
WIndows Xp. Save the URl as a link and learn to query Google. You will
learn a lot about XP and find answers when you have a problem.
