View Full Version : Persistent dial up dialog when using Outlook
I'm Stranded
December 27th 03, 01:57 PM
OK, I give up! I recently restored drive:C from a backup image. When the
image was created I used a dial up internet connection. Now I'm on ADSL and
everything is configured fine for internet access and reading mail using
IE6 and Outlook 2002(Ver: 10.2627.2625)except for the blasted newsreader.
How do I get rid of the Dial up connection dialog box each time I try to
read newsgroups? I've ticked, unticked, reconfigured and poked at
everything I can think of.
My ISP uses DHCP to manage the connection.
I'm Stranded...

Have you gone into Tools ACcounts - select the newsgroup - Properties -
connection - make sure it is on LAN

Yes, yes, yes. Thanks anyway. As you can see I've resorted to installing
the competition.
