View Full Version : Problems with Audio and Remote Assistance

Hi

Hoping someone can help me get the audio/remote assistance going with
Messenger.

Having the same problem with both Windows and MSN messenger. I have the QoS
option turned off.

I have a Sony vaio laptop (PCG-NV170) with XP Home, SP1 on a wireless home
network.

The Messenger Connections tab tells me I'm not behind a firewall (though
there is a hardwire firewall on our D-link Air+ Router).

I don't receive any error messages, when a voice call is accepted it shows
in the status bar as "connecting to 'whoever's' PC", and then after a few
seconds it just ends the call without hooking up at either end.

I get the same problem when trying to "talk" to my boyfriend on Messenger,
and we're on the same wireless network, and when I try with my Dad in the
UK.

Any help gratefully received.

TIA

Astrid

Thanks for the suggestion Lucky One. but I have version 2.l0 and that lists
UPnP and Messenger Voice support. It has worked since I took that upgrade a
fewmonths ago, just not lately.

I was able to have a one way conversation in Yahoo, I could be heard at the
other end but I wasn't getting any audio in.

Try this, my network places, view network connections, if you right click
on the Internet connection and go to properties, settings,
and delete all the memsgs settings
