Hi all,

I know this post has come up in the past, but the replies have expired and I
have been unable to solve this problem -- so forgive the repost.

Here's the problem: I position my desktop icons in specific places and when
I do a reboot they all line up in columns on the left side of the desktop.
Auto arrange and align to grid are NOT turned on. How can I keep the icons
in the positions I want? I know it's possible -- this is the only system I
use that behaves this way, and all the others are also running XP
Professional SP1, same as this one.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Mark

I've had the same problem all the way back to Win98. I use a program called
EZDesk which I downloaded from the internet. The old version, which still
works, is free, the newest carries a small charge. I still use the old free
one. It works by you manually saving the ICON locations w.EXDesk, then
restoring them with EZDesk when they get screwed up.
