Aloha!

I use an Oregon Scientific USB webcam (DC 3868 of something like that) and
Windows XP Pro.
Cheap webcam with a good picture and frame rate.
But when using it under Messenger 6.0 it performs very bad, very slow, the
frames are delayed up to almost 30 secs.
I have installed the most recent drivers for XP. With Netmeeting it works
fine!
I guess it is a beta issue and will be solved with the next version, but i'm
not sure.
Who suffers from this problem and has found a solution? Is there a patch
available?
Plz let me know.

Grz, Fred

Greetings Fred,

Are you using the 'Webcam' option? The 'Webcam' feature will only work 'smooth' if you're
directly connected, if you're not directly connected (like having a router engaged), it will
go through a central server and will appear quite jerky or be delayed (like you described).

Instead, you might try using the Video Conference option (click the Actions menu, then Start
Video Conference). The Video Conference option has no central server, and as such, it will
attempt to establish a direct connection.
