Hey,

Well i use a beta version of msn 6.0 and works ok, but now since yesterday,
MSN keeps disconect by himself, before yesterday, i never had that problem,
als try on a different computer running version 4.72. de MSN messenger keeps
disconnect by himself. It can take hours, minuts to go down, but when he is
go down it keeps doing it, so iam than online, ofline etc.

There is nothing i have change in my computer about some configuration, but
i get tierd of it and want a solution to stop msn doing this.
I cant have an normal coversation, with people and MSN is going down.

I using Internet Securty from Norton v2002 (1 year now, and works fine)

I have ADSL, always online

I have an router, latest firmware installed, no settings for MSN needed when
i upgrding (read it in the manual)

But stil have this problem

Greetings John,

Here are some suggestions that may help:
Since you're using ZoneAlarm, try putting it into the "Medium" setting and then see if the
problem disappears.

If you're using a router, make sure you have the latest firmware from your router
manufacturer. As well, you might try setting your computers local IP into the routers DMZ
setting (see documentation on how to do this).

Finally, this can also happen due to a lack of bandwidth. If you have Kazaa, WinMX, GNUtella
or some other file sharing-type application or something else that takes considerable amounts
of bandwidth, you may want to shut it down and see if that helps the situation (even if
you're using a high speed connection, these applications can use most of the resources of
your connection).

Maby iam dumb? but can you read i use an Router and latets firmware, no
zonealarm but NIS (norton Intrenet ssecurity)

I want a full answer, not an standard, this wont help, i can read, so i have
done al meesages in this group.

Give a good answer please!!

Hi,

My only other solution to you besides what I've already said would be to try using MSN
Messenger 6 instead, which addresses this problem slightly better then other Messenger
versions:
