Corrupted word processor document

I was saving a very important word processor document
when it locked up. Now its corrupted and i cant view any
of it (not even before the last save). I need to know
how to fix a corrupted file.

Word 2000-2002 - Repairing a corrupt document

1. Click File > Open and browse to your file.

2. With the file selected, instead of clicking Open, click the
drop-down arrow that is part of the Open button (on the right edge.)

3. Select Open and Repair.
