Win XP pro will not boot! Error line 1768

My wife did not shut windows down properly before turning
off the computer. When i started up my rig i got the
standard; We apologize for the inconvienece, but Win did
not start successfully. A recent hardware or software
change may have caused this... and prompts me with the
safe mode options, last known good config and start
windows normally.

When i try the start windows normally the computer
freezes.
When i choose Last Known Good Config the screen goes
blank.
If i try to go into one of the safe mode options i get a
long list of commands, then it freezes at this command...
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system 32
\drivers\mup.sys

So i tried to put my Win XP pro CD in and boot from the
CD-rom. It then tells me "An unexpected error (0)
occurred at Line 1768 in
d:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c.

If i hit F2 when prompted during the boot-up from the cd
it asks me to insert the Windows Automated System
Recovery Disk <ASR> into the floppy drive. Where do i
get the <ASR> floppy disk?

Can anyone help me or atleast tell me what the heck is
going on?! What do I need to do?
